Privacy Policy - Lighthouse Hunters

Lighthouse Hunters
Last updated: 6 September 2026

Lighthouse Hunters is operated by The Tidy Tradie (ABN 91 826 977 585) trading as Lighthouse Hunters. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we handle it.

1. What we collect

Account details: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.

Location, only when you check in: the app reads your device location at the moment you press check in, to confirm you are within 50 metres of a lighthouse. That is the only time location is read. We do not track your location in the background, ever. What we store is the check-in record (which lighthouse, the date and time, and that verification passed), not a trail of your movements.

Photos: any photos you choose to upload to your stamps.

Payment details: payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us. We store your Stripe customer reference and your membership status.

Emails from us: we send account emails (sign-up confirmation, password resets, receipts) through our email provider. We do not send marketing emails unless you have opted in to something specific.

Basic technical data: like most websites, our hosting providers log standard technical information such as IP addresses for security and reliability.

2. Why we collect it

To run your membership: verifying check-ins, showing your stamps, taking payment, and contacting you about your account. That is the whole list. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

3. Where it lives

Your account data, check-ins and photos are stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider. The app is hosted on Netlify. Payments run through Stripe. Emails send through Resend. The public website runs on Wix. These providers may store data on servers outside Australia. We choose reputable providers with strong security practices.

4. Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us to create or match your account. We do not receive your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.

5. Who can see your stamps

Your passport and photos are visible to you when signed in, and to us for administration and verification. There is currently no public profile feature. If we ever add social or public features, sharing will be your choice and off by default.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. If you ask us to close your account, we delete your personal information within a reasonable period, except records we need to keep for legal, tax or accounting purposes (for example payment records).

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account. Email tonygouv@hotmail.com from the address on your account and we will sort it out.

8. Security

We use the security features of our providers, including encrypted connections and authenticated access, and we limit administrative access to the people who run Lighthouse Hunters. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, email us first and we will do our best to fix it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will let members know by email or in the app.
