How the lighthouse passport works
Step 1 - Visit
Pick a lighthouse from the map and get yourself there. Some are a stroll from the car park. Some will test you.
Step 2 - Check in
Open the app at the lighthouse. GPS checks you're within 50 metres, so every stamp is earned on the spot, not from the couch.
Step 3 - Stamp it
The stamp goes in your digital passport with the date. Add your photos and build a record of every one you've hunted.

Our Story
In 2024 we set out to visit every lighthouse in Australia, but found that the old maps were hard to work with in the field.
So we verified every land-based lighthouse ourselves, one by one.
We found over 200 land-based lighthouses worth visiting; harbour lights and beacons on the water are not included.
Now there's a map you can trust, a passport to tick them off in, and a GPS stamp to prove you were there.

FAQ
What do I get for my membership?
Your membership is your lighthouse passport: an interactive map of all known land-based lighthouses to plan your trips, GPS-stamped proof of every visit with your photos and dates, and ranks to climb as your tally grows. Past visits count too, once we verify them.
Is my movement constantly tracked?
No. Our technology only polls your GPS coordinates at the exact instant you check in to validate your proximity. No background tracking or movement logging occurs.
Is coverage nationwide across Australia?
Absolutely. We have mapped verified coordinates for 200+ locations ranging from urban landmarks to isolated islands. You simply need a cellular signal to process your virtual stamp.
Are previous adventures recognised?
Yes. Your visits from before you joined count. On the My Stamps page, tap Submit past visits, pick the lighthouse, add the date and a photo of yourself there, and we check it and stamp it in.
What happens to my passport if I don’t renew?
It stays yours. If your membership ends, you can still log in and see every stamp, photo and note, and the map of everywhere you’ve been. Nothing is removed, ever. The only things that pause are collecting new stamps and checking in, and renewing switches them straight back on.
Can I get a hard copy of my map?
Yes, any time. On the My Stamps page, tap Print my map. You’ll get a printable page with your name, a map of Australia showing every lighthouse you’ve stamped in green and the ones still waiting in navy, plus your stamped lighthouses listed by state. Print it at home or save it as a PDF from your phone. Set the paper size to A4 for the best fit.
